What?
The annual International Student Badminton Tournament (ISBT) Utrecht will be held in March 2012. During the ISBT, you can play badminton matches for two days whilst having a lot of fun meeting lots of different people. The theme of this year’s ISBT will be...Night at the movies!!!
The Swiss ladder system will be used, which means that no player will be knocked-out during the duration of the tournament. The matches will be played in four different categories: A = top regional to national standard, B = regional to top club standard, C = club standard, D = recreational standard.
Eventually there will be some winners who will return home with nice prices. In addition to last year there will be a special prize for the best international player.
Will it be a feel-good story? Definitely! Will there be moments which feel like a thriller? Of course! Who will be the hero after this weekend and have a heroic return home? You decide!
When?
Maybe it only sounds like fiction to you now, but it will become a true story. The ISBT Utrecht 2012 will take place from Friday evening the 16th until Sunday the 18th of March. The matches will be played on the 17th and 18th of March. You’re welcome from Friday evening 21.00h to meet the other participants and have a preview of what’s to come.
Where?
The setting for this event will be sports center Olympos, in Utrecht. The matches will be played here and this will also be where sleeping accommodation is provided. Please bring your own sleeping gear. On Saturday evening there will be dinner, which is followed by a great theme party in Utrecht city center. We have special VIP busses to transport our competitors to and from the dinner and the party. It is also possible to have dinner at Olympos on Sunday evening for an additional 5 euros.
Registration?
So, if you want to join the cast of this weekend and make this story legendary together with other (international) students, you can register and be a part of it! Registration will start on December 1st, 2011. If you register and transfer the money before the 14th of February 2012 you’ll only need to pay 37.50 euro. After this date the price will be 40 euro. (If you should wish to cancel your registration after the 14th of February, we cannot guarantee you will get the full amount of your money back). If you pay it by cash on the day of tournament , the fee will be 42,50 Euro. The price includes: two days of badminton matches, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday, dinner on Saturday, followed by a great theme party and, if you wish, overnight stay at sport center Olympos. Transport from and to Olympos will be arranged. You need to buy your own drinks during the party on Saturday.
Theme
As you already read, the theme of this year’s ISBT will be "Night at the movies". So, you can already look out for a nice outfit to make a spectacular impression during the Saturday night party.
